About Us
United Equine came to be as a Kentucky Equine Research feed manufacturer circa 1995 simply as a recent Purdue Nutrition grad whos grandfather happened to own a string of 20+ horses training at the then Hoosier Park Thoroughbred meet. Carl Coopers whole barn was having a good meet, a couple other trainers hailed down our services and we grew from there. Wanting to stay small and intimate with the nutritional needs of our clients we sold that business to Producer Feeds in Louisville and continued on manufacturing fortification packages and also custom blends for tack stores, veterinary clinics and mostly our Tbred clients and broodmare farms. We have formulated and blended some of the most popular products in the marketplace today. We have blended Biotin supplements for Rood & Riddle formulated an entire line for Core Balance (Dr Van Snow and Stephanie Larrabee) in Santa Ynez, CA. We’ve consulted nutritionally at the behest of clinicians and stepped in to improve performance for products with the very good folks at Direct Action Company (DAC) in Ohio. Throughout the years we have maintained a very low profile simply because our custom blend clients have such far reaching retail sales. Our focus has historically truly been that of a quiet manufacturer and consulting service. Up to this date we have not maintained a webstore or a media marketing effort. We are just now stepping out carefully to broaden our services simply because there are not as many feed field sales reps as there were maybe 10-15 years ago and we see a growing need to bring together on farm understanding of daily feed requirements and how available feedstocks can meet those needs. We sense the time and technology is right to be able to broaden the consulting style that we can bring to the shed row. That passion is further valued by our own passion of playing low goal polo for years. Managing a string for years gives us critical insights into some of the hurdles we all navigate to maintain a high level of performance in these animals we love so much. We wish you all the success possible in your ventures.
